The House of Representative’s working group on tax reform regulation reduced the review period for lists of reference medicines, accessibility devices for people with disabilities and exempt medical devices from 1 year to 120 days.

Furthermore, the opinion gives approval for the Public Authorities to exempt medicines and medical devices in cases of public health emergencies. The tax reduction will be valid for the duration of the health calamity.

The Working Group rejected any changes to the lists of medicines with favorable taxation. There are three lists: one with a zero IBS/CBS rate, for cancer medicines; one with a 60% reduction in the IBS/CBS rate, for a list of medications; and another with a full aliquot, which contains dipyrone, paracetamol and other anti-inflammatories.
