Congressman Gilson Marques (NOVO-SC) presented, at the Consumer Protection Committee (CDC), an opinion for the rejection of Bill 1542/2020, which intends to prohibit price adjustments for drugs.

PL 1542/2020 was sponsored by senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM), and was presented during the covid-19 pandemic, as a measure to face the public health emergency. Attached to it are 44 propositions, as they address related topics.

In his opinion, the rapporteur rejects the text that intends to suspend the readjustment of medications and the increase in monthly fees for private health plans. Of the 44 bills attached, it only accepts Bill 1670/2024, as amended, which proposes changes to the Health Plans Law, to guarantee care for beneficiaries of private health care plans in emergencies and urgency.
