Brasília – The Brazilian government has formally rejected U.S. accusations of unfair trade practices in response to an investigation initiated under Section 301 of the U.S. Trade Act. In a detailed response, Brazil dismissed allegations regarding its digital commerce, the Pix instant payments system, ethanol trade, intellectual property, and environmental policies, asserting that they are neither discriminatory nor burdensome to U.S. commerce.

Brazil also challenged the legitimacy of the U.S. probe’s unilateral approach and emphasized that trade disputes should be resolved within the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Accordingly, the country has requested consultations with the WTO and called for constructive dialogue to address the issue.
