The Ministry of Health launched a new National Policy for Donation and Transplants to reduce the country’s high refusal rate for organ donation, currently around 45%, and to give priority in transplant queues to children and adolescents.

The plan includes awareness campaigns, financial incentives for hospital teams, and the creation of the PRODOT program to improve logistics and monitoring. The government will allocate R$ 20 million annually to support the initiative.
