Brasília — The Ministry of Health has incorporated radical prostatectomy assisted by robotic surgery into the Unified Health System (SUS) for patients with clinically advanced prostate cancer.

According to the regulation, public health agencies have up to 180 days to implement the procedure, which follows the final recommendation from Conitec for the incorporation of the technology. The measure marks an important step in expanding access to high-complexity oncological surgeries and reflects the government’s broader agenda to modernize the SUS with innovative technologies.
