Brasília – On 28 October 2025, the Fórum de Mulheres na Saúde (Women in Health Forum) was officially launched, in a joint effort by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Women.

The consultative platform is designed to bring together government bodies, civil society organizations, experts and regional representatives to oversee, propose and advance public-health policies aimed at women.

The Forum will meet quarterly, starting in early 2026, and targets key themes such as sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy and postpartum care, menopause, menstrual health, gender-based violence, mental health and the prevention of cancers affecting women.

The initiative also signals a drive to bolster the governance and accountability of the National Policy for Comprehensive Women’s Health Care and the broader gender-sensitive health strategies, while promoting state and municipal level forums.
