Brasília – A new survey by the Regional Centre for Studies on the Development of the Information Society (Cetic) reveals that only 17% of physicians in Brazil currently use artificial intelligence (AI) tools in their professional activities. The data highlight a large gap between awareness and adoption, despite growing interest in digital transformation across the healthcare sector.

According to the report, the main barriers include lack of training, limited infrastructure, and regulatory uncertainty around the ethical and clinical use of AI in medical decision-making. Experts emphasize that while AI can improve diagnostics, data management, and patient follow-up, its expansion depends on stronger digital literacy and governance frameworks in hospitals and clinics.
