Brasília – The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) has joined the Executive Bureau of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) for the first time, with one of its senior officials, Ana Carolina Moreira Marino Araujo, elected president of the PIC/S Sub-Committee on Communication during the 57th meeting held in Hong Kong.

The executive body includes only ten members and defines strategic priorities for global harmonization of pharmaceutical inspections and regulatory cooperation. Anvisa’s participation reinforces international recognition of Brazil’s regulatory maturity and strengthens its role in initiatives promoting convergence among health authorities worldwide.
