Brasília – Pague Menos reports that the growing demand for weight-loss injectables, popularly known as “slimming pens,” has driven strong sales across its pharmacies but also pressured the company’s cash cycle. According to Valor Econômico, the surge in GLP-1 analogue sales has required larger inventories and longer payment terms, impacting working-capital management.
Despite the sales boost, the retailer warns that maintaining profitability will depend on stricter inventory control and financial discipline. The weight-loss segment remains one of the fastest-growing in Brazil’s pharmaceutical retail market, attracting both new consumers and increasing competition among chains.
