Brasília – The Ministry of Health has launched the Policy for Monitoring and Evaluation (PMA-MS), aimed at improving evidence-based decision-making across programs, actions, and projects under its responsibility. The new framework seeks to enhance the use of data and scientific evidence to guide public health management and strengthen transparency in the Unified Health System (SUS).
The policy establishes principles of equity, efficiency, and innovation, and introduces an Annual Monitoring and Evaluation Plan to be approved by the Advisory Committee for Monitoring and Evaluation of SUS (CCMA-SUS). The initiative also promotes collaboration between government bodies, academic institutions, and civil society to ensure more informed and accountable public health governance.
