Brasília – The House of Representatives approved a bill to establish the Policy for Integral Attention to Men’s Health within the Unified Health System (SUS) and create a national awareness week in November. The measure, approved on 11 November 2025 and now headed to the Senate, mandates that managers at all levels of the SUS implement and maintain the policy on a permanent basis.

The policy will focus on prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect men exclusively or predominantly — for example prostate cancer — and the awareness week will align with the “Novembro Azul” campaign. During that week, educational actions, screenings and treatment mutirões may be carried out, and public buildings may be lit in blue to raise visibility.
