Brasília – The Ministry of Health is dedicating R$ 65 million to a new incentive programme aimed at retaining residents in health-professional training programmes (such as nursing, physiotherapy and other allied-health fields). The incentive — equal to 10% of the gross monthly scholarship value for eligible residents — will begin being paid the month following approval of the application.
The measure seeks to reduce turnover in residency positions, strengthen workforce stability in public-health services and ensure continuity of care in underserved areas. Participating institutions must meet eligibility criteria set by the Ministry and apply within the defined timeframe.
