Brasília – Brazil receives a US$300 million donation from global philanthropic institutions to support the Belém Action Plan for Health, launched during the COP30 climate summit. The resources will help strengthen national strategies to adapt the health system to climate-related impacts, including extreme weather events, environmental emergencies, and climate-sensitive diseases.
The initiative is part of the Coalition for Climate and Health-Well-Being, involving more than 40 countries and 40 organizations. Priority areas include upgrading infrastructure, improving supply-chain logistics, expanding climate-health data capabilities, and directing investments to populations most affected by climate vulnerability, such as Indigenous, Black, and female communities.
