Brasília – A new Brazilian study analysing 7,424 women with breast cancer reveals that obesity, despite being a well-known risk factor, does not significantly affect survival outcomes in this cohort.

Although excess weight remains a recognised risk for developing breast cancer especially post-menopause, the study emphasises the need for treatment strategies personalised around tumour biology and disease stage rather than BMI alone.
