Brasília – New market data show that diabetes and obesity treatments continue to accelerate drugstore revenues in Brazil, reaching R$ 13.2 billion in the 12 months ending in August 2025. According to Close-Up International, the eight leading products in this therapeutic area accounted for 160 million units sold, reflecting strong and sustained consumer demand in both chronic-disease management and weight-control therapies.
The sales ranking highlights the dominance of high-profile brands from multinational manufacturers, including Wegovy and Ozempic (Novo Nordisk), Forxiga (AstraZeneca), Mounjaro (Eli Lilly), Glifage XR (Merck), Rybelsus (Novo Nordisk), and Jardiance and Glyxambi (Boehringer Ingelheim). The segment’s rapid growth continues to shape both prescribing trends and market dynamics across retail chains.
