Brasília – The A.C. Camargo Cancer Center expanded its portfolio of risk-sharing agreements in 2025, signing partnerships with pharmaceutical companies such as Roche, AbbVie, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer. The hospital now totals seven active agreements designed to facilitate access to high-cost oncology treatments by linking payment to clinical outcomes rather than to the acquisition of the drug itself.
Under the model, if a therapy does not deliver the expected benefit, the manufacturer reimburses the cost, reducing financial exposure for the hospital and for patients. According to A.C. Camargo, the approach strengthens access to cutting-edge therapies while maintaining sustainability in oncology care. The institution emphasizes that risk-sharing has become an increasingly relevant strategy in Brazil as stakeholders seek viable ways to incorporate innovative treatments without overburdening health systems.
