Brasília – Novo Nordisk announces a multibillion-real investment to expand its industrial complex in Montes Claros (Minas Gerais), enabling Brazil to produce the next generation of semaglutide-based medicines, including advanced formulations of Ozempic. The project includes new high-technology lines for filling, assembly, and packaging, strengthening local supply capacity amid rising domestic and global demand for diabetes and obesity treatments.
The company states that the expansion consolidates Brazil as a strategic manufacturing base in Latin America, with expectations of increasing production scale, improving resilience of supply chains, and supporting future innovation pipelines. The investment also aligns with federal and state industrial-development agendas focused on attracting high-value pharmaceutical manufacturing.
