Brasília – Brazil records an exponential expansion of teleconsultations between 2020 and 2025, marking a structural shift in the country’s healthcare delivery model. The adoption of remote care accelerates after the pandemic and becomes a routine component of both public and private services, supported by legal regulation and improved digital infrastructure.
According to the study, the volume of teleconsultations grows from roughly 200,000 in 2020 to 3.1 million in 2025. Video consultations represent the majority of interactions, and more than 70% of appointments are resolved during the virtual encounter. The findings underscore greater patient acceptance, operational efficiency, and the role of telemedicine in expanding access in underserved regions and reducing pressure on in-person services.
